This original 18th century Commode Bordelaise dates from the reine of King Louis XV and can only be described as EXCUSITE.

The carpenter who made this outstanding piece, in my opinion was on another level of exellence to his counterparts.

The best example of this is found in the drawers, he clearly wanted the drawer fronts to be thicker than the norm, but the locks that were available to suit didn't have long enough keys, so as not to comprimise on the quality he wanted to achieve, he clearly ignored this small detail and found a soloution by putting the lock in the center of the drawer and then making a dovetailed chock in order to hide the back of the lock and create a refined finish, genious, and somthing ive never seen before.
